On a Mission To Help Readers Grow

To honor Jan Jablonski, the Foundation's former Co-President and founding member of the Board who passed away in July, 2016, MCPL has created the Jan Jablonski Early Literacy Training Center at Noyes.  Officially opened in March, 2017. the Center's mission is to create, model and export best-practice early literacy training for librarians and library science students, early childhood educators, daycare providers and, of course, parents.
For now, the Center is a growing collection of resources on early literacy, housed at Noyes and made available through the trained Children's Librarians there.  As the Foundation and MCPL continue to design the expanded Library being planned through the Make MORE Noyes Campaign, the Center will take shape as a space within Noyes, a mission based at Noyes, and an amazing opportunity to improve early literacy throughout the DC region and beyond.
