Kensington - An event designed for train enthusiasts—from the littlest fans to the oldest history buffs and everyone in between—will transform Kensington Town Hall into a model train spectacular on September 8 and 9, 2018.
The National Capital Trackers, a local club, will run “O” gauge electric trains on multiple layouts, with flourishes such as train whistles, steam, depots and bridges giving visitors lots to marvel at. Called “All Aboard for Kensington,” the event in Kensington, Maryland, will also feature live music. Performers include The Dixie Land Express Band (Sept. 8, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.); Sisters Uke & Friends (Sept. 8, 2:30-4 p.m.) and railroad songs and stories by Matthew Dodd (Sept. 9, 1-4 p.m.). There will also be activities for kids.
