Kensington, MD – For its 24th free Noyes StoryWalk®, The Noyes Children’s Library Foundation presents If You Find a Leaf, written and illustrated by Aimée Sicuro.
Families can enjoy this perfect fall story on posted signs at Warner Circle Park in Kensington, MD from Friday, October 13 to Sunday, November 12, 2023. Warner Circle Park is located at 10231 Carroll Place, right across the street from the Noyes Children’s Library in historic Kensington, MD.
If You Find a Leaf follows a child collecting fall leaves while she imagines what each different leaf could be. The story celebrates the changing season and “encourages children to let every leaf spark a new idea.” In addition to the related crafts and activities posted on the Foundation’s website, the StoryWalk® includes an invitation for families to find the featured leaves and trees in Kensington’s parks and neighborhoods.
Families are encouraged to check out the Foundation's Events page for crafts related to the If You Find a Leaf StoryWalk®, and to share a selfie while at the StoryWalk® or a photo of a completed craft on the Foundation's Facebook page (facebook.com/MakeMoreNoyes). Families can also post to Facebook or Instagram and tag the Foundation @makemorenoyes.
The Noyes Children’s Library Foundation launched its Noyes StoryWalk® program in January, 2021 as an early literacy initiative when libraries were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and continues to enable families to enjoy books together in the outdoors.
