Jan Jablonski Honored With The Gilchrist Award

 Friends of the Library Montgomery County (FOLMC) presented the 2017 Charles W. Gilchrist Award to Jan Jablonski for her outstanding contribution to the library system. Jablonski's son, Matthew Jablonski, a current member of the Foundation's Board of Directors, is seen here accepting the award on his mother's behalf from FOLMC Executive Director Ari Brooks, at FOLMC's "Libraries Open Doors" gala at Rockville Library on April 8, 2017.  Jablonski was a lifelong advocate of libraries and literacy and served as the Co-President of the Noyes Children's Library Foundation until her death from ALS in July, 2016.  Check the FOLMC website for more information about the Award.
